Looking to learn a new skill? Want something more intimately paced? Hand-building techniques are a great, meditative way to keep one’s hands busy while peacefully crafting. It is an entirely different approach to ceramics than throwing. Yet, it can be a new creative facet to couple with thrown skills as well. Piercing and slab skills can inform one’s thrown work with intention and depth.
This class is designed for folks of varying skill sets. Never touched clay in your life? You’re more than welcome in this class. Been practicing for a while and looking for something new in the ceramic world? Don’t worry, you’ll be far from bored here.
Recommended for individuals of any skillset, ranging from never touched clay before, to intermediate ability. This class is recommended for ages 18+. Ages 12-17 will be considered on a case by case basis. Please e-mail arttaysia.llc@gmail.com with any questions.
The Space:
This class is hosted at a residential address in Waueksha, WI; in a basement studio. Please be respectful of the first floor. Address will be e-mailed to participants upon confirmation of payment/participation.
Can Be Cold: It is in a basement so please dress in layers for comfort.

Lantern Templates:
There are four pre-made lantern templates to choose from but students are more than welcome to make their own designs as well.
Class Make Ups and Cancellations:
We understand that life gets in the way sometimes of our leisure and gifts to ourselves. Make ups will be offered on a case by case basis after a conversation with the instructor.
Full refunds are acceptable two weeks before the start of class. Afterwards we will refund half the class fee up until 5 business days before the start of class. There are no refunds to class fees that no-show or cancel within this 5 business day period.
Student Limit: 3 Person Minimum to Run. 5 person Maximum in the Space
Class Itinerary:
Friday, 5:30pm - 8:30pm, rolling out slabs, designing projects templates.
Saturday, 12:00pm - 2:30pm, Slab form construction
2:30pm - 3:30pm, Lunch Break (food not provided, please bring your own or purchase from close by choices)
3:30pm - 6:00pm, Piercing patterns into form
