Hello Spooky Friends! I am an independent film studio that produces work from popular movie genres (such as sci-fi, horror, fantasy, gothic, etc.), to showcasing commercials/products for client brands under the name McDarison Productions. My name is Ashley McDarison, and I am the sole creator of the studio running all aspects of production: camera work, research, editing, graphic creation, storyboarding, scripting, etc. Some of my work includes the award-winning 4-episode series Melancholy, and the sequel film Ruthful Calling, as well as the award-winning client testimonial The FERC: 2007 to Present.

I developed McDarison Productions in 2017 after I created my mock-trailer, Arttaysia, which featured my sister and her artwork. I am a huge fan of revolutionizing cliches while telling large thematic stories centered around LGBT representation, environmental awareness, and mental health care. Currently, I am working on projects that can be found on Youtube housed in my own channel, McDarison Productions.

When I am not creating films, I'm working side-by-side with a variety of clients. In particular, Arttaysia, LLC has been my longest standing partner since the creation of the studio. Not only is working with my sister an absolute joy, but she helps me to improve my cinematography skills with the different types of content we produce on her YouTube channel. We travel to many places in the United States including Florida, Michigan, Minnesota, and different parts of Wisconsin. My favorite moments are when we conceptualize scripts for commercials, art challenges, and other such events.

Some background information on myself: I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in May 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Electronic Media. Additionally, I minored in Film Studies to help utilize my videography skills for the movie-making industry. While in school, I developed a deep understanding in studio and on-location film work while working for the campus television station. I was a director of sporting events, working with a team to capture fast-paced shots. Additionally, I was a producer, assistant director, and executive technician for captioning. Furthermore, I worked independently as a video production specialist to create many client brand videos to further increase my creative concepts in storytelling.

Currently, I create content revolving around horror films, vlogs, photography, and graphic visual effects. I've gained a vast understanding of Adobe products mainly in Premiere Pro, Lightroom, After Effects, and Photoshop. I have an intense interest in flipping visual concepts to be brighter and create a point of interest. I am majorly inspired by films both big and small that center around the gothic and abnormal.
