An image of a nymph caught in a moment, basking in nature and sunlight. This piece was inspired by botanical sketch studies I tasked myself to do in hopes that taking time to sit down and sketch would not only expand my detail ability with nature subjects in my 2D art, but also improve my mental health. It was through the idea that “stopping to smell the roses”, and slowing life down long enough to relax and enjoy the ordinary and trivial things, would result in enjoying the moment. It’s so easy to take simple things for granted, and this piece is a reminder to appreciate and be present for life’s fleeting but truly powerful moments of peace and joy.
